Sticks
We predominately stock composite sticks from Grays, Kookaburra and TK but we also offer some cheaper wooden alternatives for beginners and for use at school.
Composite sticks are far superior to their wooden counterparts. They are significantly stronger and more powerful and transmit less vibrations through the handle. As you move through the price range you get a higher percentage of graphite in the stick; this makes the stick stiffer so enhances the hitting power. The bow profile is also worth considering; a lower bow offers aids 3D skills whereas a higher bow (straighter stick) is easier for striking the ball.
Footwear
The right footwear is essential for hockey as it is primarily played on Astroturf. Hockey shoes give excellent grip as they have a multi pimpled outsole. They also offer plenty of support and protection around the toe. Over recent years they have taken influences from running shoes and this has enhanced the levels of cushioning available. We stock a selection from Grays and Kookaburra.
Protection & Accessories
Sticks and balls are hard so the right protection is crucial. We stock a broad range shin guards and gloves from Grays. To compliment this we also have a big range of mouth guards.
We carry a range of grips, balls and stick bags.
We also stock Grays skorts and shorts and the socks for Cirencester Hockey Club.
